Meet the Manila clam or Kabibe! It can be found in the wild from the Philippines to Russia, but it is now grown and harvested worldwide. 

In fact Manila clams made up 25% of global mollusk production in 2014! (D Cordero et al. 2017) 

And remember, the date April 22 is not only the Earth Day Philippine Celebration, it’s also the birthday of an important habitat in Manila Bay where different species of Kabibe can also be found: The Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat or LPPCHEA (aka La-Papa-Chey-Ah)!
