Let’s hang out with the Golden-crowned Flying Fox! 

Kabog (Bisaya) is one of the many words in the Philippines for bats and even fruit bats or flying foxes specifically. 

This is the largest bat in the Philippines, and by weight they are the largest bats in the world! They love eating fruits (and even flowers) of kupang (Parkia), santol (Sandoricum), malaruhat (Syzygium), bangkal (Nauclea), talisay (Terminalia), and fig trees. 

Next time you have fruit, put on a golden crown, and enjoy your Vitamin C like the Kabog.
