
Meet Gansa! Gansa means goose, but the Cotton Pygmy-goose is also regarded as the smallest duck found in the country. Illustrated here is a male and female!
They are actually hard to find, as they are considered rare migrant birds in the Philippines.
They were last seen in Candaba in 1979, but were seen again in Apalit, Pampanga last year… more than 40 years after its first sighting (From DENR-BMB Phil CHM).
