Say hello to the Isabela Oriole (Oriolus isabellae)!
According to the Oris Project, it can only be found on the island of Luzon and lives in lowland forests. It is known for its pale, yellow-green body, and a broad gray bill. It makes a call that sometimes resembles a cricket or a variation of whistles!
It has been observed feeding on caterpillars but not much is known still about its feeding habits.
Unfortunately it is CRITICALLY ENDANGERED, facing high risk of extinction, just like the Philippine Eagle. There may be less than 250 mature individuals remaining in the wild, and its population is still decreasing. Threats like Deforestation and hunting threatens its survival.
Protecting the forest as its habitat can benefit not only the Isabela Oriole but also human communities that depend on the forest for their sustenance and livelihood.
